f0zzyBear
hi, i am using windows vista on my black macbook c2d. i just installed the latest input remapper and removed the apple keyboard drivers as described in this forum. now as result the key combinations Fn + F1,F2 for brightness control and Fn + F3,F4,F5 for volume control don't work anymore. before the update they worked (even with apple drivers bootcamp 1.1 and later bootcamp 1.2 installed). the reason i did the upgrade was simply that somehow i couldnot permanently adjust the brightness of my display by the key combinations. the brightness.exe tool worked and even the keycombination worked shortly - i could change the intensity of the backlight - but a few seconds after the brightness was set back to the "original" value. the only way i could permanently change the brightness was to open input remapper settings and change the "current screen backlight" value. is this a kind of feature or a known issue ??? thanks in advance f0zzyBear p.s. found out that when the leftkeys setting is not fn, ctrl, * but ctrl, fn, * - it works like a charm but not the other way round (as you would expect it ...) It sounds like you didn't get the apple driver removed correctly. It would capture these keys before Input Remapper sees them. Are there no "Apple Keyboard Support" entries left in device manager? f0zzyBear
yes . there is still a "apple keyboard support" entry left in devicemanager although i uninstalled both drivers as described in the forum. in taskmanager there is no kbdmgr.exe running anymore and in the programfiles folder there is no more folder for apple keyboard support ... any idea what could have gone wrong? f0zzyBear
yes i followed the instructions for bootcamp 1.2. only after i completely uninstalled the last "apple keyboard support" entry in device manager input remapper works as expected. (perhaps it was a bootcamp 1.1 leftover as i upgraded from bootcamp 1.1 to bootcamp 1.2) btw, great tool ... cheers CHris
