canada1824
everytime i try something there are some errors: Steam/CS/BF Application Error : The exception unknown software exception (0xc00000fd) occurred in the application at location 0x0f2850a7. wtf? I tried unsucessfully to install OS X, so i redo my partition table with SFdisk and i log in, get the itch to play CS and start steam, then this error comes up. I already updated my XP SP 2, checked for HD defects, antivirus, registry...etc That's one problem i can live with so far...but not this one: I try to open WORD, or Bitcomet or Fifa, (any program on my D drive) and it pops the DOS and quits suddenly, nothing....so i look into event log and here's the problem: Application popup: Alcohol 120%: Alcohol.exe - Bad Image : The application or DLL D:\alcholol\DevSupp.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette. wtf? There's nothing wrong with my computer (all i did was go on UBCD and check my mobo's chipset number!) here's my hijack this: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.0 (BETA) Scan saved at 3:29:18 PM, on 20/03/2007 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\brsvc01a.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\brss01a.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\aswUpdSv.exe C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashServ.exe C:\WINDOWS\runservice.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\VMware\VMware Virtual Image Editing\vmount2.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\vmnat.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\vmnetdhcp.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock\SDMCP.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\ALWILS~1\Avast4\ashDisp.exe C:\WINDOWS\AGRSMMSG.exe C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe C:\Program Files\Xfire\Xfire.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Source Engine\OSE.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe C:\PROGRA~1\MOZILL~1\FIREFOX.EXE C:\Documents and Settings\just for steam\Desktop\HiJackThis_v2.exe R0 - borisbadenov
Geeze, temper, temper. How did you run sfdisk, inside OSX? DId you install OSX then format the rest of your hard drives? I have done similar and found that Windows does not like it all too well when OSX formats a disk. It left me with errors later on. I cannot remember if they were due to a stck overflow. I have not had problems with formating a disk with linux (use a live cd) or the old Windows floppy disk and then installing the favious OS's on the drives. I do know that sfdisk also writes a bit differently; I cannot remember how so try linux and regular old fdisk. Or download Ubuntu live cd and use gaprtitioner, works awesome jeez, 34 view and no replies..... borisbadenov
I thought that as well. (Well, once your post reminded me, lol) I was thinking that sfdisk from within mac caused his snafu. I remember reading here, long ago, not to use OSX to format for Windows. So, I would scrub your hard drive and use any flavour of linux with a live cd (or an old dos floppy) reformat and partition the drive and reinstall. Yeah, it sucks but if this doesn;t work, your drive is DOA Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/45888-0xc00000fd-error/#findComment-330232 Share on other sites
