Hello,

I'm trying to install Sierra on my Asus P5K-VM.

After create the USB pen drive for legacy bios, set the IDE to AHCI, disabled serial and parallel port, I boot from USB.

When I see the Clover menu I boot the installer with -v.

The USB start with a blinking _ cursor.

After some seconds the display show me:

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

And the install hang here.

I have tried to boot also with -s but without success.

Please, anyone has any idea?

Thank you

Thank you to all for the answers.

I have installed El Capitan and all work well except the audio Realtek ALC883

HDMI audio codec(s)

Onboard audio codec
Device: Not supported
Realtek: 0x10ec0883
Name: Realtek ALC883
Audio ID: Not supported
Current Audio ID: 1 (valid: 1, 2, or 3)
FIX, try:
1. https://github.com/toleda/audio_ALCInjection/tree/master/ssdt_hdef/
ssdt_hdef-1-with_ioreg/hdef.zip (or -2 or -3, select View Raw)
2. CLOVER/config.plist/Devices/Audio/Inject/1 (or 2 or 3)

No system files were changed

Guest ricoc90

Unless you modify LGA775 to  LGA771.

Or Q8200 and above

Or E7200 and above

Xeons do not run on every chipset BTW. I believe the G33, G43, X38, X48 and Q35 chipsets are not supported and his mobo has the G33 chipset.

Edit: Ups, nevermind. the G33 supports 5xxx series Xeon's.

use iMac10,1 SMBIOS

I have change to iMac10,1 but the problem persist.

When OS X go in sleep, the computer reboot and stuck on boot-args = dart=0......

If I reboot with the installation usb key, I made a filesystem chek, reboot again without cache and then in normal mode, the OS reboot regular.

UPDATE: If I boot from the recovery partition in single user mode, the system return me: disk0s2 is write locked

This reboot happen also with Windows 10 when I select sleep the computer reboot.

Maybe can be an HW prob? A power supply not compatible?

Thank you
