  • 1 month later...

After some time I discovered that the image I was using wasn't Sierra, it was El Capitan LOL........

And after some research, trial and error Sierra works now perfectly except for:

- No audio input/output

- No brightness control in settings but I'm using Shady which is awesome.

- touchpad doesn't work but using USB mouse

- No wifi but using USB tethering from my Samsung S7

Other than that the system is pretty fast and stable that I even removed -v from clover. What can I do to get audio to work? I have Intel WIFI is it supported?

I really appreciate your patience <3

Here are the files you requested Sir.

There is a very similar Asus (maybe identical?) with a guide on some site and it mentions the following DSDTs edits. I tried following the guide but I failed because Maciasl gave me errors even before applying any patches.

"DDST patches:

Open DSDT.dsl, in MaciASL:

Search for ‘GFX0’ and replace all with ‘IGPU’

- Brightness control under FN Keys:
search 'Method (_Q0E, 0, NotSerialized)' and insert 'If...' code

Code (Text):
      Method (_Q0E, 0, NotSerialized)
        {
            If (ATKP)
            {
                \_SB.ATKD.IANE (0x20)
            }
            ...
        }

search 'Method (_Q0F, 0, NotSerialized)' and insert 'If...' code

Code (Text):
      Method (_Q0F, 0, NotSerialized)
        {
            If (ATKP)
            {
                \_SB.ATKD.IANE (0x10)
            }
            ...
        }

- Keyboard Backlight Patch:
Go to Desktop/ROG_551_552 folder, open patches folder and select one, KeyboardBacklight4.txt for 4 level step. or KeyboardBacklight16.txt for 16 level step control. Patch DSDT.dsl with those patch, use patchmatic (Guide above)

Click on Patch and apply the following patches (Must use Internet connection):
[syn] Rename _DSM methods to XDSM
[bat] Asus G75VW
[sys] Fix _WAK Arg0 v2
[sys] Fix _WAK IAOE
[sys] Fix Mutex with non-zero SyncLevel
[sys] Fix PNOT/PPNT
[sys] IRQ Fix
[sys] OS Check Fix (Windows 8)
[sys] SMBUS Fix
[sys] Skylake LPC

see 'Before' column in MaciASL and look if '0x6D' exist, then use this patch
[usb] USB3_PRW 0x6D Skylake (instant wake)
if not, use [usb] USB3_PRW 0x0D Skylake (instant wake)

Click Compile and if you have any errors (warnings don’t matter) clear them by using the patching guide above. Save the file as: DSDT.aml and file format: ACPI Machine Language Binary.

SSDT patches:

Open SSDT-2.dsl:

Search for ‘GFX0’ and replace all with ‘IGPU’

Click Compile and if you have any errors (warnings don’t matter) clear them by using the patching guide above. Save the file as: SSDT-2.aml and file format: ACPI Machine Language Binary

Open SSDT-3.dsl:

Search for ‘GFX0’ and replace all with ‘IGPU’

Click Compile and if you have any errors (warnings don’t matter) clear them by using the patching guide above. Save the file as: SSDT-3.aml and file format: ACPI Machine Language Binary

Open SSDT-13.dsl:

Search for ‘GFX0’ and replace all with ‘IGPU’

Click Compile and if you have any errors (warnings don’t matter) clear them by using the patching guide above. Save the file as: SSDT-13.aml and file format: ACPI Machine Language Binary"

Using your custom dsdt made it not booting anymore. It stops at some line on -v then gives prohibited sign.

It is not loading from SSD as normal as the ssd LED is not lightning.

Here is the IOReg file and I will attach the screen at which boots stops.

Thanks a lot you're my hero ! You're the only one helping me in the hackintosh community  :D

Boot with DSDT or fail?

It fails... I have to go Clover options everytime to rename DSDT file to something else so that it doesn't the one you gave me.

Btw there is a guide that helped me use app store, imessages .. else called An Idiot's guide to iMessage.

Everything now is perfect except for brightness, touchpad, and fn keys please help me fix those :D

Booting, battery percentage showing, but keyboard not working in addition to the previous non functional TouchPad :( can't login to test brightness. Can you just do what you did except for PS2 leave it as it is? I can use usb mouse nicely but keyboard is essential :'(

Can't thank you enough <3
