Disable R9 Fury in OS X and use R9 270X

Hey guys, I was just thinking about future upgrades for my build. I currently have a GTX 960 (I use it for Windows) and an R9 270X for OS X. You may think, well the 960 is supported in 10.10 up, so why doesn't he just use the 960? Well, I'm pretty stubborn. I hate Yosemite, and will not upgrade to or past it. I read up on the R9 Fury (there's a great deal on Newegg for $331 AUD) and it isn't compatible in Mavericks, but performs much better than my 960. Is there a way one could disable the Fury and only use the 270X in OS X? This is purely theoretical, I don't plan on upgrading my GPU for a while, but I was just wondering just to be sure.

Thanks,

- Matt
