Rectifier
Any time I try to boot the VMware image, I get this almost right away in the boot process: AppleMTRRSupport: Set WC memory type error 46 and then a kernel panic. no matter how much memory I supply. Now my PC only has 256MB memory, so some is swapped - but this shouldn't make a difference, right? If I try to run it native on my second drive, it gets past this problem, but launchd and friends throw illegal instruction errors. With my AMD 1700+ I only have SSE, not even SSE2. Anyone else seen this? Problem with my VMware installation?
zhLilDoggi
Its because you have SSE.
Rectifier
Its because you have SSE. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I thought VMware emulated extensions that were not supported? I suppose not then... anyways, as I said, my PC can make it past this RAM error on its own, which means it can't be lack of SSE2 causing this error. Though the point is moot if VMware can't emulate SSE2.
zhLilDoggi
Yeah, VMware don't emulate SSE2. QEMU does but is slow as hell.
