couldn't find root user after install of os x86

hi,

 

i've installed mac os x86 10.4.6 on a vmware server 1.0.1

 

Install was ok, but if I boot i'm getting the message "couldn't find root user".

"it continue's to boot but i'm only getting a blue background"

 

so i need a little help. pls

 

Is it possible to create a (root) user if i boot in safe mode ?
