Hello, there seems to be an incompatibility with X58. Me and another guy are having issue shutting down the pc, no matter the Clover configuration the PC shut down every once in 5-6 times

The only way to have a working shutdown is to enable cpus=1 via Clover, but as you know this disables all cores but one

Any idea on how to fix this issue?

http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/ACPI#ResetAddress-and-ResetValue

Did you tried this?

or this:

https://github.com/RehabMan/Laptop-DSDT-Patch/blob/master/system/system_Shutdown2.txt

or same as above, but as clover patch:

(SlpSmiAtWake & FixShutdown_0004 )

 http://clover-wiki.zetam.org/Configuration/ACPI#DSDT-/-Fixes

if still doesn't work, try: FixOwnership, FIX_S3D_2000000, FixDarwin_0002, FixFirewire_0800 (if you have)...

Search clover wiki for above...

Cheers :-)

Search and try the EvoReboot.kext

but it can be come from some other things, mainly i recommend to use an own patched dsdt, and not the clover functions...

with a own dsdt you can do much more and fix/mod everything like OS X wants...

but since you are a noob, you can learn yourself :-)

We all were noobs at the beginning :-)

and i see in your signature, that you are using a Macbook Pro 15 smbios?

i would recommend to use an iMac11,1 smbios...

Maybe the smbios switch, fix your problem...

Cheers :-)

As far as i know Evoreboot is not compatible with El Capitan

I've tried to get my DSDT pressing f4 in the clover menu but it does not get generated

did you looked into /EFI/Cover/ACPI/origin folder ?

what kind of troubles?

Evoreboot was only an idea, i never used it, just looked first things that can maybe help...

really strange that clover doesn't dump... but there are much more ways, you can extract inside OS X, Linux, or directly from bios... But clover is the best and simplest way...

you can simply use MacIASL to extract, but hey will not be vanilla, because clover patched them already with everything in the "ACPI" section (config.plist)

Cheers :-)

I read the other topic on tonym... xD

Do this:

make sure that Clover/ACPI/origin folder exists, if not create it... (if that folder doesn't exist, f4 will not work...)

press F4 in clover...

Send me your whole clover folder, ioreg and information about your PC:

CPU, GPU, iGPU, Ram (modules / slots)

and screenshots of your bios...

Cheers :-)
