RCOO
Good night, I've just installed the final version of Yosemite. On the DPs the location services (blue arrow icon) that would allows apps to know my location was working. But on the final version it's not. I'm not talking about Find My Mac... Just the simple location service that allows, for example, to automatically set my timezone. Does anyone have any idea why this won't work? Thanks
Uptown_J
Mine does not work as well. I read somewhere, on the internet, that location services requires a real Airport device. The option, I believe, would be to get a mPCIe adapter that is the same chipset and put it in a PCIe slot with a card that accepts it. That is the only thing I can think of. I have not tried it but both of my hacks no longer do location services. I spent too much time looking and gave up. If there *is* a real fix then I am all ears. RCOO
But I clearly remember that on DP version of Yosemite I'd see the blue icon on top bar appearing from time to time (presumably for weather forecasts). I also read somewhere that it might not work if you access from a residential network, that may be configured not to disclose your location. This would mean that using the laptop on a public network will likely work.
