XennaStudios
Im trying to install Yosemite Beta1, and I keep getting stuck on "Waiting for DSMOS", from what I understand its a graphics card issue. I booted into Single User Mode to copy my FakeSMC.kext, but whenever I mount, I get my old Mac partition which is not the installer one. My laptop is an Acer TimelineX, i7, Intel HD 3000, Nvidia GT 540M (I disabled it from BIOS)... I had Mavericks, ML, Lion on this laptop, I have no idea what's wrong... Im using the Clover Special Edition.

XennaStudios
I backed up the old Mac partition, and formatted it clean. Now I get a panic error while loading. Btw, NullPC and FakeSMC.kext were loaded. I see kernel_mount failed, is that because the usb is FAT32 formatted? I couldnt boot into clover otherwise.. HBP
ok, first and foremost, your issues are 2 fold. you are trying to install the beta Next to your current OS, this can be tricky(not recommended for novices), and second you are not adding the correct boot-flags to enable the system to help you. first and foremost kext-dev-mode=1 MUST be set in boot options. second you cannot restore from a time machine backup on 10.10, it will cause an unstable system or one that will not boot. after that depending on the USB key you have created method you used to create it, you need to move FakeSMC.kext to System/Library/Extensions. after that it will boot and install just like any other Installer, assuming your hardware is (close) to a platform that is supported. HBP PS, if you update your sig with your system info it is easier to Diagnose and assist you.
