Choppy graphics/Video playback

I completed my install of mavericks yesterday, and everything seems to be working perfectly except for graphics. My transitions are choppy (i.e. from desktop to mission control/launchpad etc, scroll bars choppy) and my video playback is laggy (mostly when in fullscreen mode) when streaming from a website. I've done some reading around this site and others and from what I can tell this is a problem with QE/CL graphics acceleration. The only way I've seen to check whether it is enabled or not is to have a transparent finder bar, which I do not. At boot, I boot with 64mb of graphics ram, and I am running a HD4600 i7 processor. My full specs are below. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

Specs:

Acer Aspire V3 772G-9460

12GB DDR3 RAM

Intel i7-4702 Haswell processor

Nvidia GeForce GTX 760M graphics (disabled and using HD 4600 graphics)
