Giving up, OSX n VMWARE

I'm not a smart guy but usually with time I can figure things out.

I've followed mulitple online instructions and tried too many things to list all of them but I've worked with the following iso's in VMware.

10.4.4

10.4.6

10.4.7

I could get all to successfully install but none to boot.

10.4.4 would boot to black screen with _ flashing.

Didn't spend much time working on that just downloaded a newer ISO/patches.

10.4.6 Installed nicely looked very promising, booted to blue screen with mouse working but nothing else. Just sat there. I felt really close with this so I tried a lot of different things did a lot of googling but nothing worked or made a difference.

10.4.7 Installed nicely again, would start to load and freeze at or near "adding browse admin local". Googled a bit here... I think I'm giving up. Unless anyone can easily stop an error.

I just feel so stupid because I'm just trying to install it to a VM session. From all my reading that should be easy.

Here is a typical install instuctions I followed...

Guest OS Type: Other -> FreeBSD

Memory: 512MB

Hard Disk (IDE 0:0): Independent-persistent 8GB Emulated Pre-allocated

CD-ROM (IDE 0:1): Using D-Tools emulated drive (H:)

Floppy: Disabled

Ethernet: Bridged

Audio: Auto detect

Virtual Processors: 1

5. Enter disk utility to create partition table. (Utilities -> Disk Utility)

5a. Select drive to install onto.

5b. Enter "Partiton" tab and configure partiton table like so:

> 1 Partition, 8GB, Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

5c. Hit the "Partiton" button and exit Disk Utility.

6. Activate the OS X partition.

8a. Enter Terminal to activate partition. (Utilities -> Terminal)

8b. Use the fdisk tool in Terminal as follows:

> fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0

> f 1

> write

> y

> exit

8c. Quit Terminal and return to Installer.

There is a lot more to the custom configuration and it is critical to success.

In Customize, there is a patches category. You must click the little arrow to the left of the category and select packages for your computer. Select Intel or AMD packages, not both. Select SSE2 or SSE3, not both, depending upon the capability of your processor. Select the Combo Update to receive the latest version of OSX. Select other packages only if you know your computer can use them.

OMG! At least I said I was moron in the title... Thank you so much. I didn't even notice the arrows for selecting the sub options. I thought I could only select the major options.

WOW... installing it now and I'm betting on success. THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I had a feeling I was missing something simple... I can't believe I wasted a week googling and searching when I should have just asked.

You should have found it with a search. I have written that same paragraph so many times my fingers are bleeding.

I was googling my error msg and issues, I didn't know the cause of lack of menu options.

Regardless, I'm very thankful!!!

I've set it up at work and home now. Thanks again.
