Bad resolution after login

So, after installing the macvidia drivers and I changed the res to 1280x1024 it just goes black and my monitor says something about being out of range blah.

I can get to the login screen but is there anyway to revert the screen resolution with out reinstalling (I really don't want to have to do this.. I mean, I really don't, it took me forever to get it working) ?

Usual info..

10.4.7 - I have the chain0 method with the XP bootloader

Macvidia 1.08

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300

Nvidia 7600GT

80GB SATA HDD

1GB DDR2 RAM

Perfect though because I'm using the win bootloader I can't hit f8 and do -s.

I tried going into VMWare and had the image mounted in Daemon but the disk was mounted as read-only.

I'll just reinstall it I guess, if it goes fine like before it'll be okay but this time I will be a lot more careful with resolutions.

Thanks and I'll bookmark that thread.

When OSX boots, the screen turns black and then grey with a spinning icon.

As soon as the screen turns black, start tapping the F8 key quickly and repeatedly until a command prompt appears. Type -s at the prompt.

Or boot the install DVD and hit F8 when it asks. Select your OSX partition from the menu and type -s at the command prompt.

Man, it was hard to catch that black screen, it shows for about half a second so I had to tap madly.

I fixed it but than I had to reinstall anywho.

I now have it running solid with network/audio but I have macvidia & 10.4.8 to install but I'm afraid too as it's working fine and I don't really need/want either of those (Well, till macvidia has QE, etc) though I do want a higher res (1280x1024) but I've read that you can edit some com file, so I'll try that.

You're my hero Rammjet. ^_____^
