hi  guys

just to clarify some things

@ghost9685 -> you said have HD6770 perfectly working with QE/CI enabled under OS  X Lion?

I doubt it is possible because this card is supported since OS X Mountain Lion

there's 3 way to have QE/CI enabled

1) like you did, i.e, just edit 3 kexts with your ID (0x68BA1002)

2) dsdt inject method (my favorite  :P )

for more details, see this post: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/282687-radeon-hd-6770-full-qeci-mountain-lion/

3) flashing your HD6770 to HD5770, your graphics card will work OOB -> Out Of Box

How do i use the DSDT methond?? will that solve my QE IC problem? let me know. .:)

First, you will always have problems with graphics on AMD cpu unless 10.9 brings a fix to the issues from using a patched kernel for amd. You should only need your id in the the controller kexts to get proper res change. Since 10.7 you should only need correct ids in kexts for support. How did you edit your plists and are you sure they are being loaded?

sorry joe75 but I don't think Rominator talked about HD6770 support in OS X Lion or SL, you know as HD 6770

maybe he talked about what Netkas said, i.e, to flash HD6770 into HD5770

I can confirm there's no support for this card before OS X Mountain Lion

I was able to do it via editing 3 kexts (ATI5000Controller.kext, ATI6000Controller.kext and AMDRadeonAccelerator.kext) with my ID (0x68BA1002)

it's just recently that RampageDev told me that it was possible to do it via dsdt inject method (but it works only with HD5770 ID, 0x68B81002), so no more need to edit kexts

but this works only on ML and Mavericks

;)

I will aks you to be more polite

I posted the kexts and don't understand why you need to argue this?

we don't talk about HD6870 but HD6770  :wallbash:     (like this topic)

HD6770 is an authentically HD5770 card, only ID's differ (0x68BA1002 / 0x68B81002)

this is nothing to do with HD6870

Just because you couldn't get it to work doesn't mean its not supported.

-_-   no comment

just because HD6870 is supported doesn't mean all HD 6xxx are supported

Whats not polite? telling you that you're wrong?

and yes 6870 does mean that a lower 6770 is supported. based on 6700 being rebranded we could say it even had support prier to 6.7 :P

Lets also note that the mid 2011 iMac with 6750m shipped with 10.6.6

you can think you are right or do not accept you're missing some information

I accept learn from others, but I'm against the arrogance

Now if you want to continue your disinformation, please contact me via PM, stop polluting this topic

cordially

edit : like I said it, disinformation

Lets also note that the mid 2011 iMac with 6750m shipped with 10.6.6

and some others have 6770M too but dude!!! stop the massacre!!!

a 6750M has nothing to do with a HD6750 (desktop)   -_-

we were obliged to wait Mavericks GM release to have the support for the HD6770M  (laptop)

have you let the name of the kernel as it was?  amd_kernel?

be sure it's correctly named in your org.chameleon.Boot.plist

<key>Kernel</key>

<string>amd_kernel</string>

or...

just add it to the boot flag

-v -f amd_kernel arch=x86_64

hey, no i have renamed the amd_kernel to mach_kernel .. so i didnt add the boot flag amd_kernel.. i will try using the -f...Should i install chameleon or chimera on this drive?

no matter how you named it

just add the same name to the  boot flag  or into the org.chameleon.Boot.plist   ;)

for chimera, I never used it before, so don't sure if I could help you more with

but you choose what you want   ;)

good luck   :)
