Open terminal and type the following commands cd desktop mkdir backup cd backup Second. In the Terminal, to create the backup type. write sudo cp -r /mach_kernel ./ 2.1 Backup essential file. In the terminal write sudo cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleACPIPlatform.kext ./ sudo cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleAPIC.kext ./ sudo cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBIOS.kext ./ Do not close the terminal Third. Copy the downloaded file in the Backup folder that is on the desktop, then double click and wait to mount the image then open the package and install. "Do not restart when the installer asks" Fourth. Return to Terminal and type the following to restore system files sudo cp -r ./mach_kernel /mach_kernel sudo cp -r ./AppleACPIPlatform.kext /System/Library/Extensions sudo cp -r ./AppleAPIC.kext /System/Library/Extensions sudo cp -r ./AppleSMBIOS.kext /System/Library/Extensions Fifth. Close Terminal and open the Disk Utility, select the hard disk where you installed Mac OS X and click "Repair Permissions" Hopes to finish and then close the Disk Utility. Sixth. click on restart in the installer. Reboot and load the gray screen where the apple appears, it takes a little while upgrading and restart again and ready once loaded you can go to "About This Mac and see which updates to 10.4.11.
