I use Tuxtera NTFS on my computer so I can write to my Windows disk but I disabled it whenver I don't use it because it constanty reads my disk. Just go to System Preferences, Tuxtera NTFS and uncheck Enable File System Caching. Then click on "Disable" and restart your computer. Leave it disabled unless your going to actually write to a NTFS drive. Enable it and later disable it when your done writing to the NTFS drive. There is no need to restart for the these changes to take place. Sometimes you might need to unmount and mount the NTFS drive again so that it detects whether to enable writing or not. I am using my all disks all time ,and this has never happened before i add last new disk to my system. Its still happening and sound from disk its really terrible...
