10.8 on server hardware

I've been running 10.7 on a server motherboard that has a ATI ES1000 (0x515e) video chipset. On 10.7 this worked flawlessly. Since the upgrade though (tried a clean install as well) I can no longer use Screen Sharing or ARD. Both cause windowserver to spike to 100% of CPU and fill the system.log with errors like this:

Mar 15 21:27:10 lroachs-Mac-Pro.local NotificationCenter[202]: CVCGDisplayLink::setCurrentDisplay didn't find a valid display - falling back to 60Hz
Mar 15 21:27:13 lroachs-Mac-Pro.local WindowServer[89]: CGXDisableUpdate: UI updates were forcibly disabled by application "Notification Center" for over 1.00 seconds. Server has re-enabled them.
Mar 15 21:27:13 lroachs-Mac-Pro.local WindowServer[89]: reenable_update_for_connection: UI updates were finally reenabled by application "Notification Center" after 1.18 seconds (server forcibly re-enabled them after 1.18 seconds)

Anyone seen something like this? Any ideas?
