Hey guys, can somebody either point me to an app or help me build an app that allows for a readout of Mac's light sensor?

I've never done any programming for a "Program" like this, but have some experience programming (Matlab, JAVA, C, HTML, Basic, etc).  There's a little bit of help that I found in a link below, but I still don't know how to put it together into something usable.  I'm really flexible on its output.  I don't care if it's a graph or a number, how fancy it is, or where it outputs to (as long as it's mildly clear and useful).

Anyone willing to help?
