Operating System - Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 Microsoft Windows 8 Professional 64-bit (Dual Boot) CPU - Intel Core i7 2630QM @ 2.00GHz Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology RAM - 16.0 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz Motherboard - Hewlett-Packard 159B Graphics - Radeon HD 6850M (HP) Intel HD Graphics Network - Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN + Bluetooth (Wireless Radio) Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller (Ethernet Port) Hard Drives - 699GB Hitachi HTS727575A9E364 Audio - IDT High Definition Audio CODEC (Beats Audio) ================================================================= What would be the best (or easiest) way to install Mountain Lion on this laptop? I am currently going through http://bit.ly/UWBkGP [[GUIDE] A fast and easy way to install Mountain Lion] and not sure if I can use this method because of the support of Gigabyte Motherboard. mnfesq Posted December 14, 2012 Share Posted December 14, 2012 Use any tutorial that explains how to use a USB flash drive for the installer. Add these boot arguments: cpus=1 GraphicsEnabler=No. Get a USB 3.0 kext. I used Modbin's modified LeCie 3.0 kext and it worked great. You need to add ps2 kexts and most people have had issues with tapping/clicking but, once you boot to the installer, you'll need a USB mouse and keyboard anyway. So far, I haven't gotten wifi to work. I'm looking for a replacement card for the Centrino Advanced N 6235. Has anyone found a good replacement wifi card? I seldomly read forum's rule coz as far as I remembered, most of the forums I joined don't have the 'reciting any other tools or whatever methods from others' limitation... But then, you are right...
