No, no ElliottForceLegacyLegacyRTC.kext in System/Library/Extensions. Nothing even close to that name. Where else can I look? Should I just try booting?

However, it can't find my HDD. Is there any way I can fix this/do I need to jump my hard drive/is it a driver problem?
Also, I can't find the legacy kernel on Nawcom's ModCD with 7zip or my VMware install. I have hidden files & folders on, but still nothing. What sort of file is it? Whereabouts would it be?
Thanks again,
Alistair

Add this file to the S/L/E folder on your install USB and add -f to your boot flags,
JMicron36xATA.kext.zip 50.03K
8 downloadsHere is the legacy kernel,
legacy_kernel.zip 5.43MB
3 downloads

The same kernel panic occurs with the 'ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext'. I can't find this kext anywhere on the USB drive to delete it. I've looked in /Extras/Extensions and S/L/E.
Also, I don't seem to be able to boot into the legacy kernel, even though I have -v -f /legacy_kernel as my boot flag. I also tried without the slash, but nothing.

If you have added the legacy kernel to your USB then boot without the mod cd and type the following,
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -force64 -f -v
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -force64 -f -v

This time, it seems like all the kexts load, but then I get a blank screen. Nothing but the backlight.
Thanks so much for persevering

OK try,
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -f -v
or
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -force64 -f -v npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -f -v
or
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -force64 -f -v npci=0x2000 PCIRootUID=1

The first one gives me the same kernel panic, and the second one gives me the same black screen.

Ok boot with the following,
legacy_kernel arch=i386 -force64 -s and when you can type the following line by line,
mount -uw /
cd System/Library/Extensions
mkdir IntelBack
mv AppleIntelHD* IntelBack/
mv AppleIntelSNB* IntelBack/
exit
Thanks to treyhamilton25 if that works.

Any suggestions, anyone? Should I open a new topic? I'm not too sure of the etiquette... has this thread strayed too far from the original question?

Try deleting the GeForce kext located in System/ Library/Extensions and the nvdresman one

No kexts with filenames relating to 'NVidia' or 'GForce' or 'nvdresman' in S/L/E, but there is an 'NVSMU.kext'. There's a 'NVEnabler64.kext' in Extra/Extensions...?

Delete NVEnabler and add these kexts to System/Library/Extensions,
