Dimaman415
Hey guys! Really happy to be finally be on the forum! Thanks in advance for your expertise and suggestions! Sorry if this has been resolved before but I have a questions regarding multipliers and why OSx doesn't always follow the MB and CPUs stages and kind of randomly picks its own. My system is: Asus p6t Deluxe v2 intel 990x 6 core processor overclocked to 4.41 24GB 1600 mhz triple channel EVGA gtx 680 OC (WORKS OOB) Mountain Lion 10.8 using Chameleon and custom DSDT (0 errors, 0 warnings and 61 optimizations) CPU bios settings: All cores active HT - on Multiplier - 33 (resulting in 4.41ghz) c1e - on Speedstep - off (ON results in 1800 GB score and the multiplier still only hits 27 during stress testing)(Off results in 19300 GB score) c6, c3 and c1 (there is a strange c3 and c1 demotion option which I have disabled) a20m - off My DSDT supports up to 16 threads The Problem: my multiplier wont go above 27 for 3.6. I don't get it. I was under the impression that x58 boards don't need an ssdt. Why is it not reading the multiplier tables right and not stepping up to 4.4? It does on the windows side. PS: Lion saw my chip as a 6 core xeon. Mountain Lion says 3.6ghz unknown. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to break that 20k mark and squeeze out that remaining 800mhz. I'm aiming for 23000 on the GB.
