1. Hey guys! Thanks to everyone who is supporting this push for native PM with x79! You guys are the bees knees. So after a relatively successful Sabertooth build with 3930k, I decided to try the infamous Gigabyte-UP4. Here's what I'm working with. Gigabyte x79 UP4 Rev 1.1 F5 Bios 64GB Mushkin Ram EVGA Nvidia GT 210 (has always worked OOB) My issue is an AICPM KP after installing Chameleon no matter what I try. My attempts were as follows: Release 10.9.2 ##### and MyHack installers (bypassing MyHack portion of installation) Chameleon 2377 npci=0x2000 (always) voodootsync.kext (for 6 core) SSDTs from RampageDev's DMG (including Beta) SSDT generated from PikerAlpha's script (from 10-12.7) MSRPatcher.dilyb from Omni (tried both) RampageDev's AICPM.kext smbios.plist from Rampage Dev AND generated by latest chameleon wizard 3 Different version of FakeSMC Tried MSRPatcher script to unlock MBR if its locked. No modules found, nothing to change. I have tried pretty much every combination of these things I can think of with both 3930k and 4930k and NO LOVE. KP at AICPM.kext. Losing hair over this. Ordered a Sabertooth just in case, but would love to work this out. Any ideas?
2. Firstly, I want to thank everyone here for their support and hard work on the x79 platform. Here's what I have going on. Asus Sabertooth x79 (Bios 4608) Intel 3930k with 4.5Ghz OC 10.9.2 (13C62) System Def: MacPro 6,1 Latest Chameleon (I'll look up version later) PikerAlpha's SSDT generating script. (2 warnings about CPU and System types) All stepping and power options enabled in BIOS Using RampageDev's latest DMG I was able to get all turbo states working from 32 to 45. Geekbench results 23,805! This only worked after I REMOVED the MSRPatcher from modules. Lower states do not work. CPU type is unknown. The CPU fluctuates from 32 to 40 even at less than 1% load. When Geekbench is running, it stays at a constant 45. Sleep works! Thats my update to date. All other attempts resulted in 3 states reported, (12 32 45) though the system only used 12 and 45. Thanks again for your effort! Hope this info helps.
3. Hey guys! Really happy to be finally be on the forum! Thanks in advance for your expertise and suggestions! Sorry if this has been resolved before but I have a questions regarding multipliers and why OSx doesn't always follow the MB and CPUs stages and kind of randomly picks its own. My system is: Asus p6t Deluxe v2 intel 990x 6 core processor overclocked to 4.41 24GB 1600 mhz triple channel EVGA gtx 680 OC (WORKS OOB) Mountain Lion 10.8 using Chameleon and custom DSDT (0 errors, 0 warnings and 61 optimizations) CPU bios settings: All cores active HT - on Multiplier - 33 (resulting in 4.41ghz) c1e - on Speedstep - off (ON results in 1800 GB score and the multiplier still only hits 27 during stress testing)(Off results in 19300 GB score) c6, c3 and c1 (there is a strange c3 and c1 demotion option which I have disabled) a20m - off My DSDT supports up to 16 threads The Problem: my multiplier wont go above 27 for 3.6. I don't get it. I was under the impression that x58 boards don't need an ssdt. Why is it not reading the multiplier tables right and not stepping up to 4.4? It does on the windows side. PS: Lion saw my chip as a 6 core xeon. Mountain Lion says 3.6ghz unknown. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to break that 20k mark and squeeze out that remaining 800mhz. I'm aiming for 23000 on the GB.
