hungx
Hello I currently have an iPhone 4S on AT&T. I rarely use the phone for calls anymore, as I have a work phone. I would like to cancel my contract, but I would still like to use the phone to access the internet anywhere. I plan on purchasing a tablet data plan for my iPhone. Should I buy a plan that supports 4G or 3G? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
As far as I know a tablet data plan won't work with the 4S because it requires a voice and data to work on AT&T's network as far as I know. I suggest if you want to use it with data anywhere you could get the 3rd gen iPad which now has LTE and you could then tether to your iPhone 4S to provide it with 4G internet. And bummer you're going to pay an arm and a leg to cancel the contract but if you find it's worth then by all means go for it. Post back if you need anymore advise I'm more than happy to help out 8)
hungx
I really don't want to spend extra money to purchase an iPad. The iPhone 4S does support 4G speeds on AT&T, though. Might need to borrow a friend's SIM to confirm that this doesn't work.
TH3L4UGH1NGM4N
Okay but the iPhone 4S 4G is just a gimmick it's not true 4G speeds like on the upcoming iPad because that runs on LTE whereas the iPhone 4S runs on HSPA+ which isn't true 4G.
