Got snow leopard installed and updated to 10.6.8 no problems...

However, when I drag and drop something, ANYTHING, the finder crashes. The windows disappear then reappear. It's annoying. I figured it was a chipset error, soci deleted everything but nforce drivers, repaired permissions and everything, and it stopped booting. So I reloaded osx, at 10.6.3 it's fine. Updating to 10.6.8, I duplicated the problem. I'm literally ripping my hair out.. Has anyone ever seen this? Seems 10.6.8 is the culprit.

Amd Athlon 64 x2 4800+
4gb ddr2-800 ( 2gb showing to osx)
GeForce 9600gso 512mb
Nforce 6 series chipset
Legacy kernel for 10.6.8

Is 10.6.8 a "must have" for you? My Athlon 640 runs it fine, but there are issues with other boxes obviously.
10.6.6 seems to be a reasonable solution to me.

Only reason is kind of a dumb one. I like being current... Lol. And the new safari requires 10.6.8, doesn't it? If not, I'd be more n happy at 10.6.6

Okay, narrowed it down somewhat... It's a kext.
It's now doing it in 10.6.7.
Didn't do it until I installed eviliopcifamily.
