JeffMcMacMan
** Update 4 Ok, both computers are up and running now. For my sons computer I installed everything from my computer, and it is all working fine. I've come to the conclusion that everything was related to smbios.plist. Make sure that you edit yours to this: <key>SMproductname</key> <string>iMac12,2</string> Prior to doing an upgrade. Also make sure that you are using the Chameleon from the link below, and that you get a boot file for icloud and face time. Hope I helped someone along. My wife was so proud that it only took me a week to get both the computers fixed ** end of update 4 ** Update 3 I fixed iTunes. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t270043.html follow these instructions ** End of Update 3 ** Update 2 So, iTunes starts up, runs for about 10 seconds, then crashes This is the only hint: Process: iTunes [381] Path: /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes Identifier: com.apple.iTunes Version: 10.5 (10.5) Build Info: iTunes-10509941~1 Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: launchd [132] Date/Time: 2011-10-24 15:22:46.710 -0500 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.7.2 (11C74) Report Version: 9 Interval Since Last Report: 37145 sec Crashes Since Last Report: 21 Per-App Interval Since Last Report: 323 sec Per-App Crashes Since Last Report: 18 Anonymous UUID: ECD6D3A2-B374-410A-B67D-E30E12A08561 Crashed Thread: 2 Dispatch queue: FigFPSharedContextFPInitializationQueue Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000 Does anyone know what that is even related to? ** End of UPDATE 2 **UPDATE 1 Ok, so on my computer, I had a time machine back up of 10.6. I restored the computer. I then followed these instructions http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=270225 and used ##### to change the smbios to imac 12,2. I also had to delete the device properties for my video driver (NVIDIA 9600), and had to set <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> in the org.chameleon.Boot.list Things seem to be ok, but I am having trouble with iTunes crashing. I could still use some ideas for my second machine, for which I do not have a Time Machine back up. I installed the 10.7.2 update from my now working machine, and did the same as above., But it is still not booting... ** End of Update 1 Hey all, I am really in need of some pointers here. My son decided to upgrade his iTunes while I was out of town. Something went wrong on his Hack so, naturally he progressed to doing the same to mine. His is a G41M-ES2L OSX 10.7.1 using DSDT WAS working like a champ. Mine is a G1-EP43-US3L OSX 10.7.1 Cartri BIOS WAS working like a champ. Now, I restored mine to 10.7.1 (thanks Time Machine). I followed these directions: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1762428 Here is where the trouble started. The MacOSXUpd10.7.2 crashes in the middle of the install. I got some ominous message telling me I have to restart my machine. And, of course it is non boot-able. As a last resort, I booted up and old 10.6 partition, and used Pacifist to install the pkg on to my Lion drive. I did the same thing to my sons computer. Now, on each computer, they both get stuck on 'Waiting for DSMOS' and then after about 10 mins "Resetting IOCatalogue", then nothing. On both machines! Using -v -f -x I can see it load FakeSMC.kext, but I am still stuck. (It's 3.1.1 or something, I also used the Chameleon listed in the instructions.) So, please help me figure out where to go from here. How can I install from 10.6? What else should I look in to about the DSMOS thing? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
