1. Hey all, I got a band new Mac Mini, and used migration assitant to migrate off of my Hackentosh. That was the very first thing I did, meaning I did not even boot in to the system first. After a long time, everything got transfered over just fine. And, it all seems to be working. I went to run Update Software, and I wanted to put Moutain Lion on my band new Mini. When I go to do this it tells me that ML is not compatable with my new computer. I know that this is a very braod question, but what could Migration Assisant have copied on to my new mac that would be preventing me from upgrading? I deleted everything that was in /Extras. What else might there be? Thank you, Jeff
2. ** Update 4 Ok, both computers are up and running now. For my sons computer I installed everything from my computer, and it is all working fine. I've come to the conclusion that everything was related to smbios.plist. Make sure that you edit yours to this: <key>SMproductname</key> <string>iMac12,2</string> Prior to doing an upgrade. Also make sure that you are using the Chameleon from the link below, and that you get a boot file for icloud and face time. Hope I helped someone along. My wife was so proud that it only took me a week to get both the computers fixed ** end of update 4 ** Update 3 I fixed iTunes. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t270043.html follow these instructions ** End of Update 3 ** Update 2 So, iTunes starts up, runs for about 10 seconds, then crashes This is the only hint: Process: iTunes [381] Path: /Applications/iTunes.app/Contents/MacOS/iTunes Identifier: com.apple.iTunes Version: 10.5 (10.5) Build Info: iTunes-10509941~1 Code Type: X86-64 (Native) Parent Process: launchd [132] Date/Time: 2011-10-24 15:22:46.710 -0500 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.7.2 (11C74) Report Version: 9 Interval Since Last Report: 37145 sec Crashes Since Last Report: 21 Per-App Interval Since Last Report: 323 sec Per-App Crashes Since Last Report: 18 Anonymous UUID: ECD6D3A2-B374-410A-B67D-E30E12A08561 Crashed Thread: 2 Dispatch queue: FigFPSharedContextFPInitializationQueue Exception Type: EXC_BREAKPOINT (SIGTRAP) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000 Does anyone know what that is even related to? ** End of UPDATE 2 **UPDATE 1 Ok, so on my computer, I had a time machine back up of 10.6. I restored the computer. I then followed these instructions http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=270225 and used ##### to change the smbios to imac 12,2. I also had to delete the device properties for my video driver (NVIDIA 9600), and had to set <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> in the org.chameleon.Boot.list Things seem to be ok, but I am having trouble with iTunes crashing. I could still use some ideas for my second machine, for which I do not have a Time Machine back up. I installed the 10.7.2 update from my now working machine, and did the same as above., But it is still not booting... ** End of Update 1 Hey all, I am really in need of some pointers here. My son decided to upgrade his iTunes while I was out of town. Something went wrong on his Hack so, naturally he progressed to doing the same to mine. His is a G41M-ES2L OSX 10.7.1 using DSDT WAS working like a champ. Mine is a G1-EP43-US3L OSX 10.7.1 Cartri BIOS WAS working like a champ. Now, I restored mine to 10.7.1 (thanks Time Machine). I followed these directions: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1762428 Here is where the trouble started. The MacOSXUpd10.7.2 crashes in the middle of the install. I got some ominous message telling me I have to restart my machine. And, of course it is non boot-able. As a last resort, I booted up and old 10.6 partition, and used Pacifist to install the pkg on to my Lion drive. I did the same thing to my sons computer. Now, on each computer, they both get stuck on 'Waiting for DSMOS' and then after about 10 mins "Resetting IOCatalogue", then nothing. On both machines! Using -v -f -x I can see it load FakeSMC.kext, but I am still stuck. (It's 3.1.1 or something, I also used the Chameleon listed in the instructions.) So, please help me figure out where to go from here. How can I install from 10.6? What else should I look in to about the DSMOS thing? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
3. Hey all, So I am a little confused.... I have a: ep43-ud3l running Snow Leopard 10.6.3 Intel e8500 nv GeForce 9600 GT Audio works by using LegacyHDA Networking works with what I think is RealtekR1000SL, although in the About This Mac, it reports it as using the AppleRTL8169Ethernet.kext I have Cartri's BIOS working seemingly just fine. I understood from the manual that I was to delete the DSDT.aml... "6.3 Delete your dsdt.aml file wherever it is." Now to be honest, I just renamed it. I am trying to solve three problems. 1) I get a cmos checksum error every time I reboot. This is why I installed the Cartri BIOS to begin with. 2) No Sleep. This is also why I installed Cartri. 3) And lastly, no 64-bit mode. The only extensions that are not 64-Bit Intel are: bsdkernel6.0 IOKit6.0 Libkern6.0 Mach6.0 System6.0 Do I still need a DSDT.aml file? Do I still need SleepEnablerSL? I would appreciate anyone's thoughts. p.s. Love my hackentoshes. I have a g41m-es2l that totally works great. I also have an old IBM T41 and a newer lenovo x61 Thanks to everyone for putting this all together. This is truly amazing stuff!!
4. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

Thank you grandflash. Sorry about this.... Is that applehda different than the one posted at the top? What is 'legacy'? And, lastly, is that efi string different than the one posted? I appreciate your help. --Jeff
5. Lenovo ThinkPad X61 Tablet

Hey all, I used this guide, and did manage to get my x61 lenovo running snow leopard. I had troubles with AppleUSBUHCI and AppleIntelPIIXPATA, but I found patches for that and finally got it running. I have an issue with my microphone. (I does not work.) I am usung the kext provided by 'grandflash' as listed above. Has anyone else had issues? How did you resolve it.
6. [How To]Atheros AR5212 based cards, now w/ Leopard

Hey all, I had a heck of a time getting this going, until I discovered that my device id 1014. I added that to the kext, and it came up strait away. I had the AR5212 on an IBM T42p. It does have some connection issues on boot, but once you get it going, it works fine.
7. afp connection timed out

So, to follow up. I used Pacifier to extract the AppleShare file system on the the broken machine. Still no love. I was wrong about SMB, though, that is working. Ideas would be appreciated! Thanks.
8. afp connection timed out

Hey all, I am looking for some pointers here. I have three macs (hacks). Two can file share perfectly. When trying to connect to "Mac C" I get a Connection Failed message. I have the firewall set to allow all incoming connections. And, in fact I can ssh to Mac C, and share its screen. I am certain that I am using the proper IP address: aftp:// When I open the firewall log on Mac C, it shows that Mac A is trying to connect to it. (But never succeeds.) I have verified my permissions using disk utility. I get the same results using SMB. Mac C - the broken one, is an Iatkos V7 vanilla kernel box. Mac B - the same (works great) Mac A - is an IBM t42p running ideneb 10.5.5 (works great) Is there some kext that I can reinstall, or something to that effect? Love to hear your ideas. Thank you.
9. Sleep Mode problems

Hey all, I am looking for some pointers. I have two boxes that are having sleep mode issues. I have successfully installed iatkos v7 on them: ASUS m2a-vm AMD Using Voodoo kernel Nvidia 9600 GT on board sound works on board lan works reboot/shutdown works Gigabyte g41m-es2l Intel Using Vanillia Kernel Nvidia 9600 GT on board sound works on board lan works reboot/shutdown works On both boxes I have messed with the APCI settings, to no avail. So, I am hoping that someone would be willing to give me a few pointers on what to look for, and what to try. Thanks!
10. Hey all, I installed Iatkos v7 on a g41m-es2l. All went well. Graphic card (gma x4500), sound, and network all worked with the default configuration. That graphic card does not support quartz, so I installed a geforce 9600 gt oc, and that did the trick. I am down to one problem. I can not get the thing to sleep. It will reboot. I am pretty new at this hackintosh stuff, so any pointers would be appreciated. Thanks.
