Ok, so, here it goes:

The problem is tied to the fact that I have to use "standard" NON-ACCELERATED video (via ATY.Franklin) on a Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

My video card is a HD Radeon 2900 Pro so its NOT supported. And yet I just need to stick to it for a while.

Now ... about video. I can see+hear VIMEO, I can see+hear Apple's Quicktime trailers.

On Youtube all I see is a black window (sound is Ok).

And yet, on sites with "older" flv files, I can see them.

Not in full screen, of course :-) but I can still see & hear them

So I think this has to do with the "Enable Hardware Acceleration" setting in Flash.

But I simply can't change it. I can get to the Flash settings window , via right-clicking on the movie. But the mouse pointer just flickers over the settings window. The setting itself won't change no matter how many times I click on the checkbox.

I also tried to change it using the keyboard. I pressed TAB until I got to the checkbox. But even if the setting is selected, I can't change it.

So my question is: Which config file do I have to edit (even if root mode is required, I don't care) in order to disable that damn setting ?

I am also having this problem. My temporary fix is to use Opera which seems to display all flash content properly, although slightly laggy.

UPDATE:

Okay, so I found out how. I use opera so I can't guarantee this will work with other browsers. I fullscreened a youtube video and right clicked to settings and somehow it let me modify them! ;)

flash things now run 100% for me.
