guyincognito21 Posted July 30, 2011 Share Posted July 30, 2011 The Message I'm getting with about 10 mins to go in the installation is: "The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." I get the same error no matter which method I try (see below). I have tried the GM and retail versions with the same result. I have tried the following methods: * xMove + [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] (both as an install partition and usb) * myHack (usb) with xMove I have tried as an update from SL 10.6.8 and as a fresh install on a seperate partition. Again I get the same result. Nope, pretty standard setup checked out the log file on install and there was that essentials.pgk error that a few others are having: install Failed: Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=110 "An error occurred while extracting files from the package “Essentials.pkg”." UserInfo=0x7faaa5197690 {NSLocalizedDescription=An error occurred while extracting files from the package “Essentials.pkg delete the package folder from ur USB/HDD and try to copy it over one more time ,maybe the file got corrupted while copying. and btw myhack 1.4 dont work as a bootloader for lion ,install Chameleon-2.0-RC5-r1083 or [url="http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/279450-why-insanelymac-does-not-support-tonymacx86/"]#####[/url] with <mach_kernel> flag and see will it work or not.
