Utilities drop down bar isn't showing on JaS 10.4.8 installation.

Alright, So I was going to install JaS to a partition via VMware, and all seemed to go smoothly until I attempted to format the partition.. The utilities are gone?! Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.
