catanaion
Hi guys, My DELL LATITUDE E4300 doesn’t want to go further with the installation of iATKOS S3 v2. I get the following error message: The funny part is, that I can install my orig. Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD with a little help from Empire-EFI. Problem is after finish installing I have to boot every time with the CD from EFI and when I try to install something like iHack or Chameleon, it won’t boot anymore. I also read that someone from this forum succeeded installing iATKOS S3 v2 on a DELL LATITUDE E4300 (unfortunately I can’t make a post there ) -> My DELL LATITUDE E4300 configuration: Computer Brand Name: Dell System Latitude E4300 CPU Brand Name: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU P9600 @ 2.53GHz Motherboard Model: DELL 0J797R Motherboard Chipset: Intel GS45 (Cantiga-GS) + ICH9M (Enh) Module Size: 2048 MBytes Memory Type: DDR3 SDRAM Module Type: SO-DIMM Memory Speed: 533.3 MHz (PC3-8500) Module Manufacturer: Nanya Technology Module Part Number: NT2GC64B8HC0NS-BE Video Chipset: Intel GMA 4500(M)(HD) Video Card: Intel GM45/47 Chipset - Integrated Graphics 0 [DELL] Drive Model: WDC WD3200BEVT-00ZAT0 Drive Revision: 01.01A01 Drive Serial Number: WD-WXH0A89S7263 Drive Capacity: 305,245 MBytes (320 GB) Media Rotation Rate: 5400 RPM Drive Model: MAT{censored}A DVD+/-RW UJ892 Drive Revision: 1.04 Serial Number: HH26 076075 Drive Type: DVD+R DL Drive Controller: Serial ATA 1.5Gb/s Audio Adapter: Intel 82801IB ICH9 - High Definition Audio [A3] HD Audio Codec: IDT 92HD71B7 Network Card: Intel® WiFi Link 5300 AGN MAC Address: 00-21-6A-2E-4C-DA Maximum Link Speed: 130 Mbps Network Card: Intel® 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection MAC Address: 00-26-B9-B9-F9-E7 Maximum Link Speed: 1000 Mbps -> This is what I tried until now: - ##### + Retail-DVD -> panic error - Hackintosh-India -> panic error - insanelymac 10.6.6i -> panic error - nawcom Mod CD + Retail-DVD -> panic error - Empire EFI + orig. Do you have any suggestions? Can you please help me with this? Is there any hope, that I could get this running on my DELL LATITUDE E4300? dothacker
you are using a laptop, no need to use ElliotforceLegacyRTC. Delete it and reboot.
catanaion
First: thank you 'dothacker' for the confirmassion and information ( I had to work on a project over the weekend, but here are my results ) iATKOS S3 v2 (Mac OS X 10.6.3) is working on DELL LATITUDE E4300 My steps: I deleted from the ‘iATKOS S3 v2’-ISO image the file ‘ElliotforceLegacyRTC’ with a liitle help from TransMac. Then I burned the ISO to a new DVD. (I DID NO SETTINGS IN BIOS, no EVEN THE HDD -> it is still on AHCI) Then I inserted the DVD and the installation started (I did NOT entered any parameters | arguments (whatever u want to call them) and after 30sec-1min I was able to do the installation of the Mac OS X 10.6.3. After 30min of waiting the installation finished and know I can boot into the Mac OS X 10.6.3 without problems (funny is that the OS X is working faster then Windows 7 – Graphic is working better, loading is faster, etc, etc, etc ) For those who have a DELL LATITUDE E4300 and want to install iATKOS S3 v2, I will make an extra thread from the very beginning with images, etc (even from the file that u have to delete from the iATKOS S3 v2 image). I will also show u how to install kext-Files (drivers that u need for your machines). I wil make the thread in english and german -> why? Because I know how much effort I put in it to install it, then searching for kext, etc What is not working at all is the WiFi and why? Because I have a Intel 5300 N. I was trying to modify the drivers from the original Mac OS X 10.6.3 and I only got I recognizes as an ethernet but no Airport. Now I bought a Atheros PCI half size and I will report back. The Touchpad has a few problems, but I think I can fix it
