Hallo all,

I'm really sorry, I am a total noob to Mac, but I am really interested in trying it, but I have no idea how to install it on my system.

I found a lot of forums where they tell you how to do it, but no noob guide, I dont know what kexts are or what they do or how you do it, I have no idea :-(

I hope someone would be nice enough to help this old man (noob) to install Mac OS X SL, please remember, me is noob idiot, need step for step please.

My system is as follows;

Intel Core i7-950 3,06 Ghz
ASUS "P6TD Deluxe" LGA1366-Sockel und X58-Chipsatz (not "P6T Deluxe V1/2")
6GB Corsair Dominator DDR3 Tripple Channel (3x2GB)
GeForce GTX295 1792MB 896-bit

Hello and welcome,

You have a similar system to me, which I've recently got working.

Kexts (Kernel Extensions) are basically drivers for your hardware. Before you worry too much about that, you need to get to a point where you can install Snow Leopard.

This guide here is very, very useful but assumes you have access to a real mac to create the installer:

You could perhaps try the iboot cds and guide, this is step by step, please read it carefully:

If the iboot cd's are no good and you find you can't get to the installer, try the boot132cd's which are available on this forum.

The problem with this is, every system is slightly different, so its very hard to write a step by step guide, because what works for some may not work for others.

Thank you very much for the help Ampage, I'm a little bit more clever now, but I am still a noob, I tried all the guides, but the only one that almost works is the one where I need another Mac, I found someone with a Mac and I installed Mac to My Hard Drive which I then put in my PC, I did all the BIOS Settings but when I boot into Mac with my PC it stops at;

Yukon: Ethernet Address 48:.........

and does not go further, I've tried several different BIOS Settings and when I turn off my LAN in the BIOS it stops with some error about AppleIntelCpuPPowerManagement Time Out.

I've been busy with this for days and I'm getting to the end of my patience, lol, I dont know what else to do anymore.

Hello, your problem is of the kext AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext, delete this kext:

1- boot your System  whitch this flag  -s      enter
2- mount -uw /      enter
3- rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext      enter
4- exit   enter
5- reboot

Now boot  this flag  -x -v
if the system not boot take one photo and post here

Hey hey hey, who's the daddy, such a noob I aint after all :-)

I got it working on my big PC :-)

I plugged my Hard Drive into another PC that managed to boot into Mac, then I installed the MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.5, then I plugged the Hard Drive back into my PC, fired her up and it bootet straight into Mac :-) cool, oh yes, I also installed the Chameleon RC5 instead of the RC4 which was mentioned in the post.

Only problem I have now is that I have no idea how to get my Hardware working on the P6TD Deluxe Mainboard and my GTX295 Graphic :-( anyone have any ideas?

Look around and keep searching for kexts. There's enough people out there running OS X on their PC that someone will surely have encountered similar hardware issues.

so far so good, only problem I have now is that my sound does not work :-( and I cant set my resolution :-(

I looked at some other posts here but it does not work :-(

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyway, my GTX 295 seems to be installed, Mac rocognizes it, well, it says so, but my Audio, what Chipset you want to know, it is the P6TD Deluxe Mainboard, this is what I found on the ASUS website

- Support Jack-Detection, Multi-Streaming, and Front Panel Jack-Retasking
- Coaxial / Optical S/PDIF out ports at back I/O

Thats does not say what chipset it is. For hackintosh you need to get to know your hardware. Try this, will tell you what your chipsets are  System_Info.zip   365.05K   2 downloads

So your video is working! Good. Do you have a choice of resolutions and video hardware acceleration?

Does not sound like your video is installed properly if you can't change resolutions. Hold Ctrl key and use mouse scroll wheel, if your screen does not zoom then you don't have acceleration.. If not I gave you a link before that is supposed to work.

And that is the motherboard chipset not audio, but forget that until you fix the video.

System_Info shows me this;

I hope someone can help me, without sound it aint nice, if you know what I mean :-)

Thanks for the link, I created an account and downloaded the file, but my sound still doesn't work, it still doesn't recognize my sound :'(

ad2000b.kext doesn't do anything by itself, as I said, you need the HDEF Device DSDT patch and you need to patch the AppleHDA binary with a hex editor as well, or you can use the perl script that's floating around that does the same thing.

Go back and read the thread again, all the info you need is there.

I did what they said in the thread, but I did not find the HDEF Device thing.
I tried the perl script, but it tells me that the folder inside AppleHDA does not exist, like I said, I'm still a Apple noob.

The HDEF device DSDT code is in post #24.

I have never used the perl script myself so I don't know how that works. Maybe you just need to run it as super user - type sudo -s and your password and run the script again.

Copy AppleHDA.kext to your desktop, right-click it and find the AppleHDA binary inside, then load it in a hex editor such as 0xED and patch it as explained in the thread.

Then reinstall AppleHDA.kext like you would any other kernel extension.

My head is so flat now, I read everything there, but now I understand less, I still dont know how to it, I must have done it wrong :-( I've got no idea anymore :-( sorry, I'm stupid
