I've got the 2nd generation and the battery has really wasted away now and it is really quite slow.
Will it go down in price quick? Could I buy a second hand one?
I hope the new one has more ram for more caching of webpages etc. It also has the app switcher which i most want.
cheers.

Ipods hardly ever go down in price. when they do, its not because of apple.
You could get a second hand 3rd gen, which has the 'multitasking' or the new 8gb one which is really cheap... The new ones don't have extra webpages but they have the faster processor, retina display, external speaker, facetime etc. A worthy upgrade if you live with it all the time...

I agree; if your music needs are met, and you are ok with the memory, keep the current one. But if you want to go for a new one then go for a 16 GB its better in the long run. Good luck!
