Thinking about kext

There are a lot of netbooks which are not supported because they have some new chipset i.e. US15W for Acer One 751h or Dell Mini 12.

So we are waiting for a support from Apple (quite impossible) or some other developer (hopefully), in the meanwhile what could be done?

At a first glance the main problem seems to be the recognizing of the correct couple vendor/id for the basic PCI device i.e. UHCI, PCI-bridge, my idea is to write a kext injector to map the new couple in the old one in this way I think that the wifi and other devices could be recognized correctly and so they could work.

When they'll be supported we can delete the kext and obtain the full support, for now we could hope to have a quite fast working device even if it could not run at max.

 

This is the base idea, but I'd like to have some hints by those who hack kext. Is it valid or is it insane?

 

I've read something in the net and I've seen some kext inside ... it seems quite simple, just create a kext with an Info.plist and include some standard kext with the Info.plist hacked with ther right matching id.

 

Is there someone that could support my idea?
