Hi,

i've got an iPhone 3GS with OS 3.1.2. jailbreaked. the model-number is MC140DN. And the baseband is 05.11.07

My question is now: Is it possible to update it on iOS4 and jailbreak it again sucessfully? I know there are a lot of pages on google and so on, but i have NO knowledge about that topic, so all the slipslop about basebands, former jailbreaks and all that confuses me more than it helps me...

could anyone give me a step by step guide, how to update and jailbreak my iPhone sucessfully?

Update to 4.0 or 4.01, NOT 4.0.2 -- 4.0.2 is not jailbreak-able at the moment, nor does it look like it will be for your phone (at least until 4.1 is out).  Once you've updated, go to jailbreakme.com on your iphone and follow instructions.  Couldn't be easier.

Agree with above poster.

Back up you device.
Install 4.0.1 - that is the highest to go to.

Then on your device, in the browser, go to http://www.jailbreakme.com
And let the site Jailbreak 4.0.1.

With sn0wbreeze you can update to 4.1 and jailbreak it.

if you do not have ios 4 shsh, it's gonna be a tragedy to upgrade to the latest version 4.1, the greenpoison may help you jailbreak but no unlock yet.

you can also use green poison. But I think iOs 3 is better with 3Gs its fast and jailbroken, and runs smooth. Anyhow your choice…Good Luck!

Download and install. Will jail break any version of iOS I have successfully tested on my 3GS with 05.14.02 basement
