Hello.

I have MSI EX600 laptop and LSPCI says, that I have "Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller".

Audio works properly with one exception - unfortunately laptop's internal mic does not work.

When I switch to Internal microphone - Mic in works (mini jack input).

When I switch to Line input - Line in works (mini jack input).

When I switch to Internal speakers - nothing works and it says: "The selected device has no input controls".

Any help would be appreciated.

people won't answer you if you're not providing any specific info. for starters what kind of audio chip do you have, Intel High definition means nothing, Ideneb the same, what audio kext method did you use? as for the picture, speaker cannot be an input device. Did you try VoodooHDA?

Attach a Linux codec dump and a Vista/Win7 configverbs override

mutis, thank you for your reply.

As a newbie I didn't know, that information I have delivered was not detailed enough

Install method was: iDeneb (10.5.6) and checked "Audio - Azalia 888" under "Custumize" section.

Unfortunately for now I do not have XP or LINUX system on my laptop.

But I tried to run computer with VistaPE (Preinstalled Environment) boot CD.

All that I managed to get information about my soundcard is below on these two pictures:

audio1.jpg

audio2.jpg

Is this data enough ?

If not, I will try to get more data about my soundcard later.

Once again - thanks!

PS. What are those mentioned Linux codec dump and a Vista/Win7 configverbs override and how would I get them? :(

sorry for the delay Is it anyway you can attach your codec dump from a linux livecd like Ubuntu.

run from terminal

cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 > ~/Desktop/codec0_dump.txt

cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#1 > ~/Desktop/codec1_dump.txt

try also codec#2

copy them to a usb device

It'd better if you can get the verbs from Vista regedit pinconfigs they are more accurate in laptops, follow this procedure:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137188

copy your applehda.kext from S/L/E

attach all files in a folder and post it here

You have ALC888 Realtek HDA, how many jacks do you have and internal mics?
