steeveeboy
hello, I recently updated my 10.5.7 ideneb install to 10.5.8 using the combo updater and tools. My machine is an old pentium 4 (non hyperthreading). My 10..5.7 running the voodoo kernel worked 100% , sound, lan, intel 900 graphics.... My 10.5.8 install will boot very slowly, then swaps to HD almost continuously and when viewing processes seems to consume 90% of the processor with the kernel process. This is observed when running the voodoo kernel. Vanilla won't boot neither will mach, when I try avn the boot prompt won't accept it as a valid kernel to boot (even though I`m SURE I installed it). I have full access to all my old kexts as I backed them up using osxtools before doing the update. anyone got any ideas? ta steevee
vilpostus
Try an AnV XNU kernel. Use the version corresponding to the system version (e.g. 10.5.6-1.4, 10.5.7-1.5, 10.5.8-1.6)
