I got a pretty beat up iPhone 3G from my bro-in-law, it was owned by a  dude that got slapped in the face by a girl thinking he was her  cheating boyfriend, so the 3G went flying and ended up face down on  concrete. So my bro-in-law fixed the screen and digitizer for him.
  
  He dropped it again later that week and now he wants the 3GS so my bro gave it to me.   Now, I'll have to diagnose it since I think the battery swelled...
  
  I need your help for the following:
  

• Where can I get a back cover & bezel for cheap? Can be any color with no Apple, I don't care.
  
• Are those 1400 and 1600 mAh batteries really good or that's just a lie?
  
• Guides on ifixit.com are great, any other suggestion for good  battery/bezel/back cover replacement guides (we never have enough info  when taking an iPhone down to parts!)

One last comment, I'm in Canada so it has to ship here without UPS (too much import fees!)

Check out www.radtech.us you will find parts..I'm from Romania here iphone parts are cheap i got a 3g lcd for 15$ us. good luck.

US is near, and no tax by UPS to Canada as it's only a small carton...
parts from china works wells too, 1600mah batteryshould not original but last for 3 days...bezel, housing cheap though, good luch

Try to search on http://www.fones.com because I found good accessories over there for my apple iPhone 3gs mobile phone. I am not sure about whether they are providing shipping to Canada or not as I bought my accessories from UK.

I have the same problem. I ordered Apple iPhone 3G Microphone
Apple iPhone 3G Home Button Flex Cable through the site that has a good selection spare parts iPhone Accessories. I even found the glue there.

I have gotten parts from sw-box.net a couple of times now... No problem with bad parts, tho the back i got had a little tab in the casing so did puncture my first battery but changed that for one from there and that was working fine again.
