Through the black art of reverse engineering, I present you Chun-Nan's IOPCIFamily.kext v113.

Quick question. How do I know if this is really working on my Snow Leopard 64? I'm trying to narrow down my ethernet problem to my PCI driver or ethernet card (BCM57780 14e4:1692) driver.

kextstat shows that IOPCIFamily.kext is running. I dont think I see any errors in my console. Are there any I should specifically look for?

Info: the dborca´s patched IOPCIFamily.kext works fine in 10.6.4 and 10.6.5.

Report again here, now with 10.6.6; dborca´s patched driver working fine.

I've tried this kext on a tx1000 HP laptop, (to enable ExpressCard PCIe video card), but it just "reboots" before going into the GUI

It does detect the external video card, but reboots,... and it does the same thing (reboots) without the card (using internal only)

How to debug this?

Linux and Win7 detects it fine.

Running 10.6.5

Anyone running Acer Aspire 7730G should take a look at here. Might work for other Acers too, maybe even for other laptops?

I applied dborca's patches to IOPCIFamily-115.

Version 113 was working fine in 10.6.7, just to keep all kexts up to date.

On Aspire 5920 the new IOPCIFamily-144 hangs at [PCI configuration begin].

I tried the first Oleg's patched and got KP
http://netkas.org/?p=852

Didn't test V2 yet, even it works we may still need the previous patches.

Thanks for sharing! Is that on your GA-G31M-ES2L rev:1.x, or another computer's DSDT?

dell inspiron 1520 ..

on the g31m i changed _ADR 1 to 0.. has _UID allready down 3 lines from _ADR

also if i use macbookpro 3,1 or 4,1 i loose wifi and lan. i think its the way MCHC handles through smbus the pci-e depending if windows.

if i use macbook5,1 (not pro) or 6,1 PRO i get good graphics loading time ( no beachball on safari) and wifi and temps are good.. some people report no speedsteps with plain macbook4,1 but wireless works.

i suspect the pci bus addressing or ram changes a little when osx osid in dsdt.

i added a empty Device (MCHC) with _ADR 0 under pci beginning but it doesnt load AppleMCCS*** (something i saw in graphics nvidia driver ioreg of real mbpro4,1)
also the mbp4,1 uses RP03 , 5, 6 .. my inspiron uses 1, 2, 4.
