stuck at apple logo screen

@ nil911, I wouldn't even know where to begin. You are going to have use a voodoo kernel but an ATI chipset...? I have no idea. Maybe not the best hackintosh material. U can't run OS X on any computer. I'd try different distros, see if something will boot.

@ dallapozza, If U have another hard drive that would be great, do a fresh clean install then transfer files from bad HD account.

 

If you want to try a repair, boot from any distro disk (not retail, U have to use a grub-dfe/boot123 disk to do retail).

well, i ran disk repair from ideneb 1.5.1, and still nothing. so i went back into disk utility and erased the thing and went to install. i think i forgot to check ahci fix in the install options, and got after booting get a patterened screen of colorful nonsense.

 

i erased the drive again, and now the machine hangs on the "verifying dmi pool data..." screen at startup.

 

goddamnit. ;)
