Install
EITHER Use osx86tools to install it:

OSX pick it up before the restart

..or if you don't want to use osx86tools

sudo -s
chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions
chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions
rm -f /System/Library/Extensions.mkext
kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions
diskutil repairPermissions /
reboot
Press F8 on startup, Type "-x -v" to enter safe mode

Find: 88E8053
Replace: 88E8055
*Think it was two incidents*

Find: IOPCIPrimaryMatch
Set value: 0x436311ab.
"4363" is Device ID and "11AB" is Vendor ID. You can see the number by Everest.

Search and replace 88E8053 with 88E8055, and set IOPCIPrimaryMatch value to 0x436311ab.

This works for me only half of the time. Sometimes after booting the lan keeps reconnecting after about every 5 seconds. To solve this I have to boot into windows and then back to osx. It then works for about 2 boots.
What might be the problem?

Ok it works. I think it had sth to do with the cpus=1 parameter I used. Now I'm starting with my 2 cores and lan made no problems since then.

I tried unsuccessfully many times fixing my Marvell on my laptop following many solutions presented on this and other forums. I didn't supposed it would be so easy to simply pick up your kext and install it. You are Great. Thank you.

Your welcome Glad to know that the patch works
Personally, I find it highly annoying when you find "the answer", expect the download link doesn't work because your 12,18,24 months "late".
Anyway, I've made a few mirrors this time - hopefully it will live on for another 18 months

On the WiFi note - I didnt try to get it working, wired was all that I needed and I've moved laptop since then (hence why I didn't/couldn't test the patch myself).

i will keep a copy of this kext on my hd, so if anybody needs it in the future and the mirrors are gone mail me.

yeah, i might just give up with this atheros wireless and (try before i) buy a pci-e os x compatible one.
