Growl slowdown issues

Hey guys,

I am having a very strange problem, I am not sure when this problem began occurring, it might have been after update to 10.5.6 or maybe even earlier than that. Whenever a Growl notification is displayed, a noticeable input (mouse, keyboard) lag occurs. The notifications even stutter and stall when fading in and fading out. If more than one notification is displayed, then this probably becomes even more noticeable.

Now, a friend with MacBook Pro has no such problem, so that eliminates Growl being the problem. One application that it's really irritating in is Adium, especially when typing a message and a notification appears. I have a nVidia GeForce 8800GS (384MB) enabled using Chameleon 2.0 and the DSDT ACPI patch. This problem occurs even when using EFI strings. Both Core Image and Quartz Extreme are enabled. I've even tried reinstalling on a separate drive with no noticeable difference.

Sorry if it's a bit too long, I am trying to give as much detail as I can. However, I've been wondering whether anyone else has been experiencing this problem and if there are any solutions.

Thanks a lot,

Ondrej :(

Okay, I fixed the problem -_- After much trial and error, I found out that it was because my monitor had been plugged into the second DVI port, plugging it into the first one fixed the problem. How unusual, but I am glad to have this issue behind me now. Hope it helps anyone who might have the same problem.
