jamdog30
hi there Just wanting some advice as I am 99% about to do this deal. I have just built my quad core hackintosh. specs are q6600 o/c 3.2ghz 4 gig ram 1 tb dvd rw 8600gts black case and a AOC 22 inch monitor LCD and the guy will swap me his dual g5 2.7 macpro with 20 inch apple lcd monitor 1gig ram, and two 160 hard drives. He bought thw system in dec of 2008 and just wants to go back to windows. he also wants an extra 150 quid. Just wanted to know thoughts if this is a good deal, i spoke to apple this morning about warranty and they said i can buy the extended warranty for 170 quid (nhs discount). thanks
TheBogieMan
Or stay with what you have fella and invest the 320 notes on Stella.... I know what I'd do
Synaesthesia
I would stay with the hack. Although an Apple Cinema Display is amazing... The Hack is much much faster.
jamdog30
hi there thanks for your opinions, and i have decided to save the 320 quid, i totally did not realise the true extent of this purchase. As the idea of coolant leaks on the dual g5 is a real issue and the idea of purchasing this computer with no after care is a real frightener especially when things go bang. I just xbenched my system and it reached 206 and the cine bench scores also were rather awesome too.
