Micky1979 I feel your pain. I have an HP laptop too. Beside Intel's WiFi, the only other WiFi that will work on the HP 610 is the Broadcom BCM4312. I tried adding it the plist file, but without any luck. Lion refuses to load the drivers for it.

ar5b91 half size works fine.

I installed Ubuntu 12.04, but I get this error:

Makefile.inc:81: *** Cannot detect kernel version - please check compiler and KERNELPATH. Arresto.

I think the new kernel does not support this work in Ubuntu 12.04
Any tips?

I confirm that AR5b91 works in OSX 10.7.3 and 10.7.4 without hacks! (original kext)

Look at the pictures, the work I have done on card, because I thought he had the connectors in the right place............. but it works ..... :moil:

I realized why I always get error reading the rom :| ,
but I asked for a card to rebrand as possible to overtake HP bios whitelist, I misunderstood what you said :poster_oops:

i need a card Atheros or Broadcom that I can rebrand as HP, not Apple

atheros ar5bxb62 rebrands.. and bcm94321mcp is a hp version. but subsystem id likely not in whitelist.. get whitelist removed in bios if possible. (and it is . flash bios bellow)

edit: and it is
original> sp55068.exe = whitelist removed> http://www.bios-mods...itelist-removal
will fail if HP TOOL partition present.

Rebranding was a success, but os x had a probelm. OS X 10.6.1 HAZARD wont reconginze, or even see, the wifi card. Terminal cant see it, nor can system profiler. The card works fine in windows and ubuntu, so I am wondering why it isn't working here. I can supply any info needed, from ubuntu lspci -vvnn, to os x's terminal commands. I an laso able to take pictures. Somebody please help me!

Don't worry, it's not one of those evil cards! BTW eeprom shows the card as a g only card (although the sticker in the card says it is b/g). Thanks in advance

not to my knowledge.. anything higher than AR5BXB6 series changed an cant use old tools.. linux didnt develop it.. due to no need with new linux for driver to work in linux
