dcipher
I have 10.5.2 installed and running great (thanks Kalyway!), but I do have one minor problem - my machine will go to sleep ok, but sometimes when it wakes up it refuses to believe it has a network adapter. (Intel Pro 1000 - Abit IC7-G Max 2 motherboard). i was going to try disabling the onboard LAN and using a 3COM card i have lying around (non-gigabit though), but before I did, I was wondering if there's a way to stop/start the network (either from a terminal window or from gui), something like ifdown eth0, then ifup eth0...? Thanks for the help
T u r b o
ifconfig en0 down ; sleep 3 ; ifconfig en0 up should cause the device to run it's disable and enable routines
dcipher
thanks! I was still having lots of problems with the network adapter. Tried a PCI version of the intel pro/1000 - even worse! caused the computer to crash when i opened safari. Then i put in an older 10/100 card (3COM 905 i believe) and all is stable. Sound, video, network, sleep, etc. Everything works! -J
