GeForce 8600 GT (XFX)

Hi, I am facing a tricky problem... I have Leopard 10.5.2 (Kalyway release) installed, and I purchased a new video card recently, the card is a 512Mb GeForce 8600 GT made by XFX, I am using NVinject 0.2.1.

The card works pretty well when I use its RGB output, my problem begins when I try to use its DVI output instead, the white screen with the Apple logo shows normally but when the system finishes loading the screen goes completely black.

I think the driver somehow sets the primary output for the RGB connector, sending the video signal through it only. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks in advance,

Eduardo.

it has to do with the NVCAP values ? nvinject.free.fr is a good place to search for ?

proper vendor and ID matching of nvidia.kexts is another hint ( especially if you have a nforce chipset mobo).

This is the value on NVinject.kext (Info.plist)

<key>NVCAP</key>

<data>

BAAAAAAAAwAMAAAAAAAABwAAAAA=

</data>

My mobo is Asus P5LD2-SE, chipset Intel 945P

NVCAP seems ok, have you set vramsize in your plist ? as below

<key>VRAM,totalsize</key>

<data>

AAAAIA==

</data>

( thats for 512MB)

i use the string method from netkas and so i dont use nvinject anymore, you could try this too,

if you run EFIv8,

Yes, is the same string.

How do I know which EFI version I'm using? And how is this string method from netkas?
