7300LE + 6200TC = 3 Monitor Heaven

Ladies n gents,

 

I thought I'd share my success story with my hackintosh. As i've been poking around for quite a while trying to get this little sucker to work, i finally managed to pull it off.

 

Initially I started off with the integrated GMA950 and 7300LE. However I couldn't get the two to play nice. So i discovered my mobo has a 4x PCIe slot which actually isnt limited. I can pup a 16x card in the 4x slot as the slot is "Open" on the end.

 

So i decided to throw in a 6200 TC that i had laying around and it now plays nice with the 7300LE ;)

 

Best of all, i didnt have to add / edit any kexts, i just used EFI strings :) and voila, it works:

 

Here are the pics, ill post the plist and hex string later as it also includes the ALC888 string.

Sorry everyone, finally got around to it:

 

A couple of important settings you must know about:

 

the motherboard: ga-945gcmx-s2 (rev 6.6 - bios F4)

must be set to boot from PEG2

 

The 6200TC is configured to run the middle monitor and it is inserted into the PCIex4 slot

The 7300LE is configured to run the side monitors and is inserted into the PCIex16 slot.

 

Also an interesting note i'd like to make is i used the BSEL mod to mod my E2160 from 800 fsb (1.8 g hz) to 1333 fsb (3.0 ghz):

The funny thing i found is the motherboard runs the sata controller fine in windows @ 1333 fsb, but mac osx can only go to a max fsb of 1066 ? - everything boots fine at 1333 in mac, but the sata controller doesnt seem to work. Anything attached to it doesnt get recognised at 1333 fsb ? (perhaps a bad kernel version im using - i might have to try Leo4Allv3) ?

Hey there,

I have a Asus 7300LE and Im working on finding its hex string.

Would you happen to have one ?

Also, I found a tutorial on netkas.org forums to plug in the EFI strings.

So I think Im close to getting my card working without nasty NVINject and all that.

Would you be so kind as to enlist what you did to get your EFI string working for your card?
