hi guys.

i've just installed the new version of iDeneb (1.4) on my dv5-1070el

i have 3 usb, two at the right and one at the left.

the one at the left, doesn't work yet, but on the v1.3 it works great!!!

the problem comes with the update 10.5.6 because i tried to install the combo update on the 1.3 and the usb doesn't work.

i think is a kext problem. how can i fix it??

thank you very much!

Guys i also have a DV5 and had exact same issue after 10.5.4 ----≥ 10.5.6 ideneb upgrade. The thing i had fixed in past because i found an entry where there were fix. I had to install a new Ideneb now i am having issue again but this time i could not find the entry in insanelymac forum. The fix was removing LAN driver i do not remember which kext file was it. I will keep searching. if you can find it before me let me know please.

Guys

Finally i found the fix. Removing AppleHPET.kext from extentions is the solution. Now i have 3 of my USBs working (All i have is 3. it is HP DV5).

Action Plan:

Using Finder, copy the Kext to the desktop or somewhere as a backup (or you can use OSX86Tools too). Better be safe than sorry!

open terminal

1. sudo rm -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHPET.kext

2. restart mac
