Update. Removed nullcpupower, which was hidden in /extras/extensions. Sleep works by apple menu. Going to try lidsleep and see if it works.

Okay, I've managed to install ML 10.8.2 on this machine. I've gotten onboard gigabit, wifi, sound, webcam, touchpad, and keyboard working. I've not tested the DVD, but I'm going to just assume it works at this point. The problems/issues I have all seem to be related to power managment, but, without a bit of advice, I'm not sure how to proceed. Startup/Shutdown work fine, no boot switches or anything needed. The machine will not sleep if I put it to sleep via apple menu, lidsleep (close the laptop - automatic sleep) wont work. I close the lid, and peering between the lid and the keyboard, I still see the backlight keyboard on, and the system dosent sleep. When I try to sleep via apple menu, it shuts down, the display turns off, however, the system stays "on" and has to be hard rebbooted. Possibly related - The battery icon works, and shows the battery charge level -- however, when I unplug from AC, or, if I booted unplugged, plug the laptop in, the battery stil indicates that its in the same state it was at boot (Ie, if i booted plugged in, it still shows "On ac power" even though the battery % drops, or if I boot on battery, it never shows its on AC). I've done some google searches, but haven't had any hits (It could be that this is my first hackintosh in a few years, and I've just gotten rusty with my google-fu!!) Anyhow, machine specs: Asus G72Gx (the Best buy model) Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53ghz 6 gigs DDR2 80 gig intel SSD (Windows 7 boot drive) 500 gig 5400 Sata - 200 for windows /rest for osx Geforce 260M / 1Gig Discreet video

I had the external hard drive issue when I first got 10.7.3 running, however, I downloaded the newest version of lionize (just used the link in the first page of this post) and it fixed all my issues, the older version I had (also from the first page of this post, its been updated) wouldnt run, saying I need osx 10.7, so it didnt like the .3 update.

Try adding this to your org.chameleon.boot.plist <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> My system was overclocked, but I had disabled c-stepping and speedstepping in my bios for windows stability. System was running AWFUL in osx however, so I did some searching, and found that fix. Seems you have the opposite problem, mine was locked in low power/ low performance mode, yours is stuck in high. Perhaps the same fix will work

Updated here. Ran the lionize script i use for my motherboard, re-applied my Video driver fixes, and my npci=0x2000 fix. Everything works, reports properly.. and seems a bit.. hm. snappier? that could just be me being slightly crazy.

Update went fine here. Broke my video card drivers, but that was to be expected, as was having to re-apply the ncpi=0x2000 fix.

My netbook did the same sort of thing when I installed more memory. I wound up breaking the install trying to fix it, and had to rebuild from the ground up. However, I stumbled across a possible fix later on in my searching. If you're system uses a DSDT file, you may have to delete it, and re-create it. Again, I broke mine trying to do this, so, I cant really offer advice, but perhaps google will provide?

if you have a system that's running OSX already, then use this guide http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=267001 I'm using a Sabertooth x58, but judging how easily it worked for me, and the lionize scripts also support your motherboard. This would be the -very- easy way to go!

This is such an -awesome- guide. Installed on the config in my signature. Took a few trys (new and all) to get the graphics card enabled, and the AGPM set up the way I wanted. One thing of note, and I'm not sure everyone will have this problem, but, when I first installed, my cinebench scores were approximately HALF of what they should be. I figured it was due to the problems I had with the graphics. Spent a few days tweaking and mucking about. Figured out, that it wasnt my GPU that was hampering my system, my CPU score was TERRRRRIBLE! A few google searches later, I saw that I should add the following to my ocBp file <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> Now the system performs as good, if not better than windows 7. Cinebench scores are exactly where they should be, and the entire system seems MUCH snappier.

SOLVED!!!!!!!! I realized, after some further testing, that it wasnt just my GPU that was underperforming. My CPU was scoring about 1/2 of what it should. A few searches later, and I found that my boot.plist file was missing the following <key>GeneratePStates</key> <string>Yes</string> <key>GenerateCStates</key> <string>Yes</string> put that in, rebooted. Cinebench scores are now DOUBLE what they were!

Hey all. Its been awhile. After an unplanned (oops, I broke it) motherboard change recently, I decided to give OSX a go again. Did a few hours of googling, found an install method (Lionize Sabertooth x58). Got the system up and running. Even have support for full resolution, and both monitors. However, I've found that my performance in 3d applications is severly lacking. Specifically, in WoW, I've gone down 40% - 80% in framerates (90fps + in Stormwind with vsynch off in windows to 40ish at best in OSX) Is this sort of perofrmance hit just something I should learn to live with? It makes WoW unplayable in raids. Things Iv'e done thus far: Installed latest CUDA Removed the applepower management kext for video. used one of the guides I found on the forums to get full resolution/etc installed (Added my own hardware id, removed a line from boot.plist) Specs: Asus Sabertooth x58 Lion 10.7.2 12 Gig 1600mhz Corsair Ram I-7 920 (2.6ghz) overclocked to 3.8 ghz (Corsair H80 self-contained liquid cooling) Nvidia GTS560TI (overclocked edition) running 2 23" LED (1920x1080) Wacom Intuos4 Small (works!) SB WoW Wireless headset (works!)

Kalyway will *not* work on an AMD processor. You need to get Zephyroth 10.5.1 AMD DVD from one of the usual sources. Did you get AIM working. I'll leave Ichat up all day if you need to ask a question.

You need to provide some more info! What motherboard? What processor? What kind of hard drive? It sounds like you're running a SATA hard drive, and a Nforce chipset... which, I had the same problem with. Finally I had to use a IDE hard drive for OSX, and the SATA drive for vista.

My system did the same thing when trying to format a partition on a SATA hard drive in OSX. Apparently our sata controllers are not fully supported. I can see the drive, just cant make any changes. I wound up installing to a IDE hard drive, and everything works fine, except, to be expected, I can read CD's and DVD's with my SATA dvd burner, however, I cannot write
