  1. Try this app http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=219584
  2. Your system will probably work. Your parts are very close to the guide ones so you might get it installed right away. The graphics card may need some work. Try the guide to see how it goes.
  3. That depends on the system. There's no rule for that.
  4. I suggest you keep a backup of your system and then try installing each update at a time.
  5. DSDT stands for Differentiated System Description Table. Yes you probably can use somebody elses DSDT.
  6. In simple words dsdt helps OSX read your bios info. Patching it helps OSX recognize your hardware as if was a real mac. There are patches about sleep problems and the support for gigabyte motherboards is very good. Try it if the SleepEnabler kexts don't work. Now about the plist. If something goes wrong you can boot from the installation DVD and remove it. Can you post the plist so I can have a look?
  7. When it says press any key to continue you type -v.
  8. You can try a blank HD. Is AHCI enabled in your BIOS? (It should be).
  9. OK. Try copying the .plist from /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration to /Extra. QE/CL works with your card. You can search on google or the forum and you will find info on how to get it working. There are SleepEnabler kexts for each version of Snow Leopard (10.6.3,10.6.4,etc.) but you can also try patching your dsdt. You have a Gigabyte motherboard and there are a lot of patches for those. If you search around a little bit in the forum you'll find lots of info about that.
  10. It will work and you might, with some workarounds, get the resolution to change. QE/CL doesn't work, for now at least. There is a thread on this forum about the card, you can look there how far others have gotten. But you'll probably have to wait until apple releases a kext.
  11. Both should work. Choose one and see how it goes and if it doesn't work try the other. I should point out that the Radeon 6870 is not supported. And I would use a hard disk only for OSX, it's easier to install this way.
  12. First of all you should make a backup of your HDD. I don't know about retail but I had iAtkos v3 s2 working on a similar machine with an AMD Athlon X2 64 3800+ and the Abit AT8 x32 motherboard. You can try this http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=227592 The guide is with the retail DVD.
  13. Yes thats correct. Try that and see what happens. And add -v too.
  14. No problem man. Your busratio should be your cpus multiplicator.
  15. Have you tried bootflags cpus=1 or/and busratio = your busratio?
