badapissa
Thanks to all the viz kids in the internet universe, I managed to get a near perfect SL 10.6.5 on my D630 with Intel Graphics. I've had my fare bit of share of googling and finding info on my own before decided to make a post here. I've below issues which I painfully in the search for answers. 1. "ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin::registerLPCDriver - WARNING - LPC device initialization failed: C-state power management not initialized" during boot 2. VoodooMonitor report my FSB Clock: 725 MHz and Bus Clock: 181 MHz. Is my processor running fine or VoodooMonitor has a bug? How to verify this? I used a 10.6 retail DVD to install with all vanilla kexts and use bare minimum of custom kexts as listed below and updated to 10.6.5 using Combo update as well. AppleACPIBatteryManager.kext AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext ApplePS2Controller.kext FakeSMC.kext IOATAFamily.kext OpenHaltRestart.kext legacySTAC9205.kext Works: Intel X3100 graphics with vanilla 32-bit kexts Vanilla Power Management, Sleep/restart/reboot/display dimming with DSDT patches Sound with legacySTAC9205.kext and AppleHDA vanilla kext from 10.6.0 retail dvd, Bluetooth, PS2 mouse, keyboard, touchpad with IOATAFamily.kext SpeedStepping with P-States, but not sure C-States are working or not as I haven't come across a way to verify it properly (Had to patch /System/Library/Extensions/IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns/ACPI_SMC_PlatformPlugin.kext/Contents/Resources/MacBook3_1.plist to get this working) Not works: Intel 3945 ABG WiFi not working (but I use a D-Link N-131 Nano USB which works perfectly alright) Built-in ethernet works with AppleBCM5751Ethernet.kext, but I don't use it as it slows down the boot and shutdown timing.
